Trying something new in quilting

Working on my free pattern

I finally got the background of my free pattern complete. I changed the colors a little to the original to give the impression of grass and sky. The instructions were easy to follow and I could work out the changes myself.

I heard through Arbee Designs that a new online class for applique is starting next month. I'm considering taking the class because then i will have a quilt finished for Christmas. The new class will be the Poinsettia you see here.

Better get the applique done on this one now, will let you know how I get on.

Free Poppy Pattern Fabric

These are the fabrics that I have selected to use for my free poppy pattern. I chose soft colors for the background but have decided to use three fabrics for the background to give the look of sky and grass, and then the bright colours for the poppies. Well had better get cutting and sewing, I will keep you posted. If you want to see the design click here.

Quilt Pattern Reviews intro

Hello I am a beginner when it comes to quilting so am interested in checking out new and interesting patterns and of course being able to understand the instructions is helpful. I happened to come across this web-site offering a free poppy pattern and decided that since it was free it was worth-while trying it. It looks very pretty, just hope that when I finish the block it looks as good as the picture. I will keep you all posted on how it is going.
